Q: What kind of return on my investment can you get with Redscan?

A: There are a number of cost benefits that Redscan provides.  A typical installation for a 20,000 square foot hangar ranges from $15-$20K depending on the site and other requirements.  Redscan helps your operation crew minimize its exposure to accidents and damage to aircraft in the hangar.  Usually, costs associated with repair fall under typical insurance deductibles.  While direct repair costs are fixed amounts, the indirect cost such as loss of business, downtime, replacement expenses and damaged company image are immeasurable. 

Q: WHAT DOES THE SYSTEM INCLUDE, AND WHAT'S INVOLVED IN THE INSTALLATION?

A: The Optex Redscan is just a sensor that ties to new or existing alarm
panels and sounding devices. Although it is a very unique sensor, it acts
the same way as any other. Therefore, the Redscan is integrated with other
basic non-proprietary, off-the-shelf components to create a system that
alarms when the laser field is broken. 

Q: HOW MUCH OF A WALL CAN I COVER WITH A REDSCAN DETECTOR?

A: Depending on the height the Redscan is mounted (50ft max.) you can cover
about 170-185 feet of floor space. A typical 20k square foot hangar usually
needs two units for the far wall and one unit each for the end walls. The
height of the laser field (from floor to the face of the detector) can be
modified depending on your needs through the included software.

Q: DO I HAVE TO HAVE SPECIAL TECHNICIANS INSTALL THE SYSTEM?

A: The same security integrator who installed your CCTV and Access Control
systems can also install this equipment. If you don't have someone already,
we can recommend (and train) that company.

Q: WHAT IS THE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF THE REDSCAN UNIT AND WHAT IS THE
WARRANTY?

A: The meantime-between-failure (MBTF) is approximately 6 years for the
Redscan. Extended warranties can be offered through an Optex Redscan
Certified Security Integrator for a nominal fee.

Q: CAN THE SYSTEM BE DESIGNED TO ALERT ME AND MY MANAGEMENT WITH EMAIL
NOTIFICATIONS AND SNAP-SHOT IMAGES?

A: Yes, the system can be fully customized to meet many other requirements
your management may desire. This is a design process your security
